Reasonable application method of common nitrogen fertilizer

The correct application of nitrogen fertilizers is particularly important on the basis of balanced application of multiple elements. At present, several kinds of nitrogen-containing fertilizers are applied in production, and the following matters should be noted in the application:

Ammonium bicarbonate contains about 17% nitrogen. After being applied to the soil, the ammonium ions of the nutrient component can be completely absorbed, and no harmful substances remain in the soil, which is a physiologically neutral quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer. However, ammonium bicarbonate is volatile and should not be applied shallowly. The application depth should be below 3 cm of soil layer, and the soil should be covered immediately after application and watered in time. It is also not suitable for application in greenhouses. Because the temperature in the greenhouse is generally high, ammonium bicarbonate is more likely to decompose into ammonia and volatilize.

Ammonium chloride is about 25% nitrogen, has low hygroscopicity and is stable at room temperature. It is a physiological acid fertilizer. After being applied to the soil, the ammonium ions of the nutrient components can be completely absorbed, and the amount of chloride ions in the soil can be accumulated, which may poison the crops. Rice, sorghum, millet, cotton, hemp, sugar beet, spinach, etc. have strong chlorine resistance and can be applied as needed. Barley, wheat, corn, soybeans, peas, broad beans, peanuts, radishes, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. are resistant to chlorine and can be applied as a constant. Sweet potato, flue-cured tobacco, tea, lettuce, Chinese cabbage, sugar cane, citrus, apple, etc. have weak chlorine tolerance, and are chlorine-free crops. It is not suitable to apply ammonium chloride.

Ammonium sulphate The nitrogen content is about 21%, the hygroscopicity is small, and it is stable at normal temperature, but it is not suitable for long-term application. Because the fertilizer is a physiological acid fertilizer, long-term application in acidic soil will further increase the acidity of the soil and destroy the soil structure. After application in alkaline soil, the ammonium ions in the ammonium sulfate are absorbed, and the sulfate ions remain in the soil and act on the calcium to make the soil compacted.

Ammonium nitrate has a nitrogen content of about 34%. It has a large fertilizer effect. After being applied to the soil, ammonium ions and nitrate ions can be absorbed completely without adverse effects on the soil. It is a physiologically neutral quick-acting nitrogen fertilizer. Because ammonium nitrate can dissociate nitrate ions, it is easily leached into the deep layers of the soil in rice fields, causing denitrification and loss of nitrogen, so it should not be applied to rice fields. It is not advisable to apply nitrate nitrogen fertilizer in dry land to water in heavy rain or after application.

Urea has a nitrogen content of 46%. It is the fertilizer with the highest nitrogen content in solid nitrogen fertilizer. It has stable nature, low hygroscopicity and is easily soluble in water. It is a high-quality neutral nitrogen fertilizer. Urea has a high nutrient content and is suitable for a variety of soils and a variety of crops. Urea is applied to the soil and can only be absorbed and utilized by the crops after being converted into ammonium carbonate. Therefore, the fertilizer is slower but more durable. In addition, deep application of soil should be applied during application. Do not immediately irrigate the water after application to prevent urea from leaching to the deep layer and reduce fertilizer efficiency.
