From January to December 2010, the United States exported 2.12 billion US dollars of metal processing machine tools, an increase of 24.9% compared with 1.697 billion US dollars in the same period of 2009; the cumulative export of CNC machine tools was 933 million US dollars, up 39.9% from the 667 million US dollars in the same period of 2009.
From the product type, from January to December 2010, the United States exported 1.374 billion US dollars of metal cutting machine tools, an increase of 24.9% compared with 1.1 billion US dollars in the same period of 2009; exports of metal forming machine tools 746 million US dollars, compared with 5.97 in the same period of 2009 Billion dollars increased by 24.9%.
From the machine tool export market, in December 2010, Mexico was the largest export market for metal processing machines in the United States, with exports increasing by 7.6% from November to $19.6 million. The second largest export market is Canada, with exports of US$25.9 million, an increase of 22.3% from the previous month. The remaining top five markets are: China ($24.4 million), the United Kingdom ($19 million) and China Taiwan ($11 million).
