One of the world’s largest solar bridges will be built on the Thames. The bridge will be converted from the Blackfriars Railway Bridge in central London. It will consist of more than 6,000 square meters of photovoltaic materials, with more than 4,400 photovoltaic panels, and is expected to generate approximately 900,000 kilowatts per year. At the time of the power, the bridge was built by British company Solar Century. The bridge was first established in 1886. The solar technology will rejuvenate the 100-year-old bridge. Apart from the solar panels manufactured by Sanyo Electric, the bridge will also include a rainwater collection system and natural solar lighting.
