Thompson Pumps Introduces OVT (Oil-Free Vacuum Technology) Start-up System, Compact Series Pumps, and Advanced Silent Knight Silencers. Thompson Pumps OVT startup system enables an ordinary pump to start automatically. The lower maintenance and operating costs of the OVT system are due to the dry running of the system without the need for circulating oil. Not using recycled oil means that there is no potential for smoke, fog or contamination of these traditional start-up systems. The OVT system has a high vacuum capability and has a suction height of 28.4 in. Hg and maintains a high vacuum even at lower speeds. The air-cooled startup system eliminates the need to check the water level and does not require maintenance of the cooling system, so it is suitable for applications such as sewage bypass, well point drainage and more. Not only does the Compact Series pump all the benefits of the Thompson Pump JSC Series Pump, but it also offers new benefits such as a more compact form factor, smaller size, lighter weight, fewer components, less maintenance, and cheaper prices. The Compact Series pumps are 35% smaller and 20% lighter, but have the same performance as standard size pumps with a 24-hour fuel tank. With the latest diesel engine, some of the extra parts can be removed, which has made the Compact Series pump more reliable. The Thompson Pump Compact Series pumps include the Enviroprime system, which prevents the pumping of material to the environment. Silent Knight reduces noise by 3-6 dB compared to standard silencers. Additional benefits include additional space in the main compartment, hinges pop-up top for ease of service, floating plug-in connections, self-activating buzzer and flashing lights, and muffler mounted in a separate front compartment. Thompson Pumps retains the modular features of the muffler cover to facilitate the aftermarket supply and installation.
