Classified by paint type
In the anti-static floor coating, according to the coating variety can be divided into two types: self-flowing coating and solvent-based coating:
1. Anti-static self-flowing coating: It has the advantages of smooth surface, high hardness and good wear resistance. Most suitable for places where the air level is above 1000 levels;
2, anti-static solvent-based coating: the price is lower than the self-flowing flat, the control resistance value is convenient, the wear resistance and hardness are worse than the self-flowing flat. Applicable to places where the air level is below 1000.
Classified according to the conductive materials used
According to the conductive materials used, it can be divided into conductive fibers, conductive mica powder, conductive metal powder and conductive additives:
1. Conductive fiber type:
Advantages: It has high strength, very low oil absorption, good electrical conductivity, small amount of addition and low cost.
Disadvantages: The resistance value is poorly controlled, which is easy to cause breakdown, causing damage, poor dispersion, and uneven distribution of coating resistance values.
2. Conductive mica powder:
Advantages: excellent electrical conductivity, low specific gravity, low oil absorption, convenient control of resistance value, very uniform dispersion in the coating, uniform coating resistance.
Disadvantages: The amount of addition is large, and the cost is higher than that of fibers.
3. Conductive metal powder:
Advantages: Excellent electrical conductivity and low price.
Disadvantages: The color is darker, it can't be made into light color, the specific gravity is too large, it is easy to precipitate, the dispersion is poor, the construction is difficult, and it is easy to be oxidized.
4, carbon black, graphite:
Advantages: Excellent electrical conductivity and low price.
Disadvantages: The color is darker, it cannot be made into a light color, and the oil absorption is too large to produce a high solid content coating.
5, conductive additives:
Advantages: low price and even dispersion.
Disadvantages: Easy migration and anti-static function is very short-lived, generally around 3-6 months, only for temporary anti-static places.
From the current development trend, the conductive and physical properties of the antistatic self-flowing coatings using conductive mica powder are the best, and the antistatic solvent-based coatings using conductive mica powder are second.
