Recently, the Shanghai Administration for Industry and Commerce announced the "Qualified Products for Wood-based Panels and Related Products in the Third Quarter of 2009", among which three products distributed in the two stores of B & Q.
According to the information released by the Shanghai Municipal Industry and Commerce Bureau, the bureau recently found that in the quality monitoring of 60 batches of wood-based panels and their products distributed by 29 sales companies, only 43 batches were qualified, and 17 were unqualified. For each batch, the pass rate is only 71.7%. The Taishan brand plywood, Shengtai brand blockboard and Taishan brand teak plywood distributed by Baianju Zhabei and Meilong stores were all found to be unqualified due to excessive formaldehyde emissions.
According to the Shanghai Municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce, among the 10 batches of products with excessive formaldehyde emissions, there are 7 batches of blockboard. The use of cheap adhesives directly caused the formaldehyde emissions to exceed the standard, and some products even exceeded the formaldehyde emissions. The national standard is more than three times.

According to B & Q, suppliers are required to provide test reports issued by authoritative testing agencies for their products sold in B & Q every year, but it is difficult for suppliers to provide such reports for each batch of products. The factory conducts spot checks on its main indicators.
In response to the problems discovered this time, B & Q has requested suppliers to further improve their testing methods, strengthen the factory inspection of products, and increase the frequency of inspections; at the same time, B & Q will also increase the spot checks on its products; B & Q stores will also strengthen the inspection of suppliers And product monitoring. All unqualified batches of products have been removed and returned to the supplier after receiving the inspection notice from the Industry and Commerce Bureau.
