Manufacturing characteristics of high quality bearing steel

Bearing steel is a steel with strict quality requirements. 1) Surface quality fine processing and quality inspection system

The surface flaw, the subcutaneous inclusions, and the decarburized layer are uniformly removed by a method of flame-cleaning the billet and rolling the strand into a small round billet. For materials with particularly high quality requirements, the slab squeegee work is highly cleared. In order to ensure the surface quality of the small round billet, the automatic eddy current flaw detector and the magnetic particle flaw detector are used for inspection; for internal defects, the internal porosity and inclusions are detected by a round blank full-section ultrasonic flaw detector.

2) Fine manufacturing technology and quality assurance of bearing steel

In the wire-bar factory, a wire rolling line is added to the bar rolling line for joint rolling. For the bar and wire, the four-roll finishing mill is used for finish rolling. The dimensional accuracy of the bar steel is less than 0.01mm. The user can omit the suede and the drawing process. The wire can be freely rolled and can produce a small size wire of Φ4.2 mm. Since the wire has been rolled to the forged size, the user can omit the wire drawing, heat treatment and surface treatment processes.

3) Improve the cleanliness of steel

In recent years, in order to improve the cleanliness of steel, JFE steel has improved the production process of steel by using PERM (reduced pressure reduction refining) and LF (external refining furnace). The PERM method is to dissolve nitrogen, hydrogen and other gases in the steel during the smelting of the converter. Then, the RH furnace (vacuum degassing) is used to rapidly decompress the gas to generate gas in the steel, and the gas is used to capture and remove the steel. Inclusions.

JFE Steel also built a new LF furnace in 2008, which greatly improved the removal ability of inclusions. The effect of using the above process and equipment is that compared with the original process, the prediction index of inclusions is reduced by 34%, the maximum diameter index of inclusions is reduced by 29%, and the standard deviation of the maximum diameter index distribution of inclusions is reduced by 73%.
