Chen Lin, deputy general manager of Southwest Aluminum, said that in recent years, the company has invested nearly 2.5 billion yuan to implement cold rolling mill production lines, heavy plate production lines, aluminum and aluminum alloy strip production system technological transformation projects, and completed the construction of 250,000 tons of aluminum processing cold The continuous rolling production line is the only aluminum processing cold rolling line built in the world in the past 18 years. This production line integrates the highest level of production technology and equipment for aluminum strips in the world today. The thinnest thickness of continuous rolled aluminum is only 0.27mm, which is close to the thinnest thickness of 0.26mm currently in international continuous rolling aluminum.

After the project is put into production, the annual production capacity of the company will reach 700,000 to 800,000 tons, and it will provide the market with urgently needed high-quality, high-precision, high-grade cold-rolled alternatives to imported aluminum products. Aluminum can-making cans have occupied 30% of the domestic market. The share of enterprises in one fell swoop into the ranks of world-class aluminum processing companies.

Military priority boosts "Shenzhou" series flying

Southwest Aluminum was originally a third-line military enterprise and always put the needs of the country first.

In recent years, Southwest China has provided hundreds of varieties and thousands of specifications for the "Shenzhou" series of spacecraft, "Shu" series of lunar exploration satellites, launch vehicles, new types of warplanes, battleships, domestic large aircraft and other aerospace and defense key projects. The key aluminum material exceeds 350,000 tons, providing first-class protection for the national defense construction and aerospace industry.

Chen Lin, deputy general manager of Southwest Aluminum, said that the key aluminum alloy materials required for aerospace engineering have the characteristics of high metallurgical quality and high-performance technical indicators, as well as the characteristics of multiple specifications and large construction dimensions, and the organization and performance of the materials used. The surface precision and other requirements are extremely strict. Southwest China through technical research, effectively solved a series of technological problems, made a series of scientific research achievements such as casting, thermal processing, heat treatment, and overcame a number of key technical difficulties in material R & D production, and achieved mass production, ensuring the project need.

In addition, as an important supplier and strategic partner of the country's "big airplane" project, Southwest China Aluminum provides 85% of domestically produced materials for the country's "big plane" project.

Actively investing in civilian products to develop automotive aluminum body panels

While the military is prioritizing, Southwest Aluminum has also actively participated in civilian products. Last year, Southwest China successfully developed a high-tech exclusive product - automotive aluminum body panels.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Southwest Aluminum Automotive Department, with the automotive energy-saving, weight reduction requirements, automotive aluminum will gradually replace the steel, in the future, automotive aluminum will have a large market, mainly for the car hood and doors. In this context, Southwest Aluminum initiated the research and development of automotive aluminum. Samples are available now and can be gradually produced in batches.

Aluminum is not as hard as steel, so some people worry about the safety performance of automotive aluminum. According to the person in charge of the Southwest Aluminum Automotive Department, this is not the case, because aluminum absorbs energy more effectively after a sudden impact, and can better guarantee people's safety.

In addition, in March this year, SWA also successfully passed the special process review organized by the American Performance Review Association and the internationally renowned aviation industry authority PRI, and obtained the Nadcap certification issued by the PRI certification organization. Obtained the international "air market" pass.

Southwest Aluminum has a more ambitious goal. By 2015, Southwest Aluminum's annual total production will reach 1 million tons, its operating income will reach 30 billion yuan, and its scientific and technological innovation capability will reach the international advanced level, becoming a world-class aluminum processing enterprise.
