Identifying imported waste plastics requires only two strokes

1. Combustion method. Burning with flames, looking at the color of the flame, the burning process and smelling after burning, the waste cable is a very effective and simple method. When burning, if it can not be burned, it is not easy to point, it is polypropylene (PP), if it is easy to point, it must be observed through the characteristics and phenomena of combustion. For example, if the softening after burning, the wire can be pulled out is polyvinyl chloride (PVC); if it is a small amount of black smoke, the flame has bright light, and the soft foaming is polystyrene (PS); when burning, it does not blister, and there will be dense after burning. The hole, the flame does not shine, the softening process slowly softens, the black smoke is ABS; the polypropylene (PP) burns no smoke, the polystyrene (PS) burns black smoke. Further smelling the smell, the strong pungent spicy taste is PVC, the aromatic smell is PS, the light sweetness is ABS, the candle smell is PE, the oil smell is PP.

2. Visual inspection method. PE, PP, PVC, etc. are visually observed by the color, brightness and shape of the plastic. For example, PE is soft to the touch, white is transparent, but the transparency is general; PP is white and transparent. Compared with PE, the transparency is higher, and there is sound when it is smashed; PVC is soft, the hand is sticky and elastic, white is transparent, and the transparency is high; ABS is the surface. Good brightness, good toughness and high hardness. If it is not visible by visual inspection, it can be further identified by the combustion method.
