Iron and steel raw materials market slowed down

The spot market for domestic steel raw materials continued to rise today, but the increase continued to slow. Among them, the imported iron ore spot market continues to gain momentum, and some ports have seen a sharp increase in the pull-up rate; the domestic refined fines market has generally increased; the billet market has steadily increased; the coke market has partially risen; and the shipping market has continued to rise.

Specifically, the market price of iron ore imported today continues to rise. Among them, the increase in the external disk market has increased over the previous day, and the domestic port's spot market price has continued to increase. Some ports have seen a significant contraction in their pull-up rate, and there have been signs of gradual stabilization, with individual ports compensating for growth and increasing at a relatively large rate. At present, the market inquiry is relatively active, and the merchants are reluctant to sell and have a good deal.

In domestic mines, the domestic market for fine iron ore fines has generally risen today, and local market gains have increased somewhat, with the increase rate ranging from RMB 5-55/ton, and a few markets have remained stable. At the same time, the purchase price of iron powder of some steel mills continues to increase, and the increase rate remains large. At present, iron ore market players have higher expectations and the market has increased their inquiry for iron powder, and their purchasing enthusiasm has improved.

The domestic steel billet market continued to pull up today, but the trend has slowed down. Some market prices rose by 20-100 yuan/ton, and a few markets remained stable. Tangshan billet prices have risen by RMB 20/t this afternoon, which has slowed down. At present, the domestic steel billet market is once again in a wait-and-see mode. Business operations are more cautious. However, with the increase in the operating rate of steel mills, the demand for billets has increased, and transactions have continued to improve.

Today's domestic coke spot market has steadily increased, with an increase of RMB 15-30/t. At the same time, the procurement enthusiasm of coke for steel plants has increased, and individual steel mills have started to increase the purchase price of coke, but the increase is smaller. The recent sharp increase in steel prices, to a certain extent, the coke market has a greater boost, is expected that the steel market does not appear a larger correction process, the coke market will continue to pull up.

Today's domestic scrap steel market has not been changed. The increase rate is between RMB 20-100/ton. The increase in individual markets has increased, and a few markets have remained stable. Market transactions have been general. Among them, the Tangshan, Dalian and Liaoyang markets witnessed the largest increase, both at 100 yuan/ton. At the same time, some steel mills have increased their scrap purchase prices by 30-100 yuan/ton, and individual steel mills have lowered their prices by 50 yuan/ton. At present, there are few resources in the scrap market and there is some support for prices, but there is no heavy volume in the market transactions.

Today, the domestic steelmaking pig iron market has steadily increased, and individual markets have risen. The increase has increased noticeably, with an increase rate of 100 yuan/ton, and the market turnover is slack. As other types of raw materials continue to pull up, the steelmaking pig iron market has a stronger willingness to rise, and some market businesses have increased by a larger margin. However, buyers’ enthusiasm for purchasing is still low, and market turnover remains subdued. The market is mostly waiting to see.

In terms of shipping, the seaborne market continued to rise on the 18th, including Brazil-China shipping charges of US$18.979/ton, up US$0.758/ton (15-18 million tons), and the increase has increased; Western Australia to China’s sea freight costs US$7.317 / Ton, up 0.254 US dollars / ton (15-18 million tons). At the same time, due to the increase in the transport activity of Capesize vessels, the BDI index sharply increased on the 18th, up 34 points, or 5.13%, a sharp increase from the previous day.
