The Ministry of Environmental Protection announced to the media on September 24 that the “Annual Report of Major Pollutant Emissions of All Provinces, Autonomous Regions and Municipalities in the First Half of 2014†showed that in the first half of the year, the total discharge of the four major pollutants in the country decreased.
Reduction of nitrogen oxide emissions to achieve the best results The Ministry of Environmental Protection's accounting results show that the total discharge of chemical oxygen demand in the first half of this year was 11.722 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.26%; the total amount of ammonia nitrogen emissions was 12.25 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.67%; The total amount of oxidized* emissions was 10.372 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.87%; the total amount of nitrogen oxides emitted was 109.95 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.82%.
In the first half of 2013, the total amount of chemical oxygen demand, carbon dioxide*, ammonia nitrogen, and nitrogen oxides in the country was 11.993 million tons, 1.259 million tons, 10.569 million tons, and 11.675 million tons, respectively. Contrast data found that the reduction of nitrogen oxides in the first half of this year has created the best results since the "12th Five-Year Plan." The data shows that the country’s nitrogen oxide emissions decreased by 680,000 tons year-on-year in the first half of this year.
Relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Environmental Protection pointed out that in the first half of 2014, 120 million kilowatts of thermal power plant denitrification units were newly added nationwide, with a total installed capacity of 550 million kilowatts of denitrification capacity, accounting for 62.5% of the total installed capacity of thermal power plants; 28.3 million kilowatts of off-site facilities for active thermal power units were increased. Capacity transformation; 75 million kilowatts of thermal power units removed from the * facilities flue gas bypass, no bypass operation off * unit totaled 475 million kilowatts; 6950 square meters of iron and steel sintering machine added flue gas off * facilities, has been off * sintering machine area A total of 94,000 square meters, accounting for 69% of the total sintering machine area; 100 million tons of cement clinker production capacity of new dry process new denitrification facilities, denitrification cement clinker production capacity reached 820 million tons, accounting for 57% of the country's total new dry process capacity 3512 livestock and poultry farms improved waste treatment and resource utilization facilities, and the chemical oxygen demand and ammonia nitrogen removal efficiency increased by 6 and 26 percentage points respectively; the elimination of more than 2.2 million yellow-label vehicles and old motor vehicles continued. Promote the elimination of backward production facilities such as papermaking, printing and dyeing, electricity, steel and cement.
The four indicators of Tibet and Xinjiang are lower than the national level. According to the communique, the four pollutants of the three provinces and cities of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei achieved emission reductions in the first half of this year, including chemical oxygen demand, ammonia nitrogen, carbon dioxide*, and nitrogen oxides. Among them, Beijing's ammonia emissions in the first half of the year were 0.95 million tons, which was 5.95% lower than the same period of last year, and the emission reduction rate was the highest in the country; Tianjin was the province with the most falling nitrogen oxide emissions in the country. In the first half of the year, nitrogen oxide emissions amounted to 144,200 tons. In 2013, 16.14 million tons decreased by 10.67% year-on-year.
In the first half of 2014, the four major emission reductions for coal in Shanxi, the coal province, also showed a year-on-year downward trend. In the first half of 2014, total discharge of chemical oxygen demand in Shanxi Province was 232,500 tons, a decrease of 2.72% compared with the first half of 2013; the total amount of ammonia nitrogen emissions was 27,900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.05%; and the total amount of dioxide* emissions was 645,700 tons. , a year-on-year decrease of 3.51%; total nitrogen oxides emissions were 550,800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.01%.
It is worth noting that the pollutant emission reductions of the four indicators in Tibet and Xinjiang were all lower than the national average. Among them, Xinjiang Autonomous Region and XPCC's CO2* and NOx emissions both showed an upward trend year-on-year. Among them, Xinjiang XPCC's CO2 emissions and nitrogen oxide emissions both showed 27.84% and 37.8% double-digit growth year-on-year.
In addition to the absence of changes in ammonia nitrogen emissions in Tibet, the other three pollutant discharge indicators all increased year-on-year. The discharge of chemical oxygen demand increased by 4.48% year-on-year, the amount of dioxide* emissions increased by 9.95%, and the nitrogen oxide increased by 2.44%.
